



15-year-old Eugene is a charming and captivating Jewish boy, full of life and dreams: he wants to be a famous writer or a baseball player and dreams of his first love. Through his eyes, he takes us on the journey of growing up in the bosom of his extended Jewish family, who live in a crowded apartment in Brooklyn during the economic depression in America in the late 1930s. Amid the difficulties of life and livelihood, his mother and father teach him the power of love, humor, determination and hope.
